Southsea Pub The Fawcett Inn had a competition to design their new Sign. Here's my entry, depicting Lt. Alexander Fawcett who died during the Indian Mutiny in 1858, and where Fawcett road and it's pub get their name.
The magnificent Author of victorian classics, Oliver Twist and Great expectations, and owner of a fine piece of coiffed facial fuzz - Portsmouth born literary legend Charles Dickens was born 200 years ago today, what better excuse to pick up the blog again!
